Getting Here

The Middle Bay Interpretation Centre is located in the community of Middle Bay,
in the municipality of Bonne Esperance on the Quebec Lower North Shore.

How to Get Here: 

Bonne Esperance, which includes the community of Middle Bay, St. Paul’s River and Old Fort Bay, is connected to Route 138. Old Fort Bay is located at the western end of the road and Blanc-Sablon at the eastern end, right before the Labrador border. From the Blanc-Sablon ferry terminal, travel west for approximately 38 km until you reach the community of Middle Bay. The Centre is the first building on your left as you enter from the east.

From mid-April to mid-January, when the St. Lawrence is not frozen, 3 different boat and ferry services will take you to the Blanc-Sablon ferry terminal. The local airport, in Blanc-Sablon, provides transport services year-round.

Travel by Ferry:

The MV Apollo offers daily 90-minute ferry crossings between St. Barbe, Newfoundland and Blanc Sablon, Québec.
The Relais Nordik is a passenger / cargo vessel that travels along the Quebec Lower North Shore from Sept-Iles to Blanc Sablon, Québec.
The MV Sir Robert Bond  travels between Goose Bay, Labrador, and Cartwright, Labrador. Once in Cartwright, drive south on Routes 516 (gravel road) and 510 (paved road) for 409 km until you reach the Québec-Labrador border. From there, travel 38 km to Middle Bay, Québec, where you will find the Middle Bay Interpretation Centre.
